The All Progressive Congress,(APC)Ward Chairmen Forum in Kwara state have applauded the state governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq over the removal of the erstwhile state Chairman of the party, Basir Omolaja Bolarinwa(BOB).
The APC Ward Chairmen Forum, Kwara State under the leadership of Comrade Habib Lawal gave the applause on Sunday at a press conference held at Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) press Center, Ilorin.
The conference which had in attendance 141 ward Chairmen out of 193 Congratulated Alhaji (Hon.) Abdullahi Abubakar Samari on his appointment as the new Caretaker Chairman of Kwara State APC and affirmed their support for his leadership.
The Forum called for unity within the Kwara APC family so as to move the party forward.
The Forum also formally applauded the outstanding performance of Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“The aim of this press briefing is to formally applaud the outstanding performance of His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as Governor of Kwara State, Congratulate Alhaji (Hon.) Abdullahi Abubakar Samari on his appointment as the new Caretaker Chairman of Kwara State APC & affirm our support for his leadership and Call for unity within the Kwara APC family to move the party forward.
“We were ecstatic to receive the news of Alhaji (Hon) Abdullahi Samari’s appointment as the new Caretaker Chairman of APC in Kwara State and with resounding commendation for the informed decision of the National Caretaker Committee of APC under His Excellency Mala Bunni, we back this decision as the erstwhile Chairman of the party, Alhaji Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa is guilty of acting consistently against the interest of the APC in the State and coercing other party members to do same.
“His removal marks a new dawn for APC in Kwara State and offers the party an opportunity to reunite and be focused to effectively support His Excellency, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to sustain delivery of dividends of good governance to the people of Kwara
“We remain confident that with Alhaji (Hon) Abdullahi Abubakar Samari’s antecedence and experience as an excellent leader, a core progressive and democrat, he will join hands with the Kwara State APC Ward Chairmen Forum and other Party leaders to unite and build our party (APC) into a much stronger, focused and united family.
“Our resolve to avail ourselves for the continuous service to APC in Kwara State and His Excellency, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is not negotiable as we believe this collaboration is in the best interest of all Kwarans, “the Forum Chairman said.
The ward chairmen also reiterated their unwavering support for the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and commended him for upholding the integrity of the APC by delivering efficiently on the manifesto he promised to residents of the state when he campaigned on the ” O’ To’ Ge’ ” mantra.
The manifesto delivery according to the Forum includes construction of roads, Rehabilitation of health centers, ensuring security of lives and properties of residents Kwara, distribution of palliatives to flood victims and timely payment of counterpart funds.
Others are Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) programme aimed at enhancing standard of living of vulnerable people, upgrading of schools across the sixteen local government areas of the state, the establishment of factories to create job opportunities for the teeming youths.
“These and more are the multiple ways the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led Kwara State Government is growing the State and caring for its citizens.
“We call on all members of the APC and Kwarans across divides to be numb to unprogressive elements within and outside the party and rally round the Governor offering their unalloyed support in his quest to build a new Kwara where everyone matters”the Forum added.
It would be recalled that the Secretary of the National Caretaker Committee Senator John Akpanudoedehe communicated the removal of the erstwhile to the party members on the 12th January 2021 that the Chairman was said to have been removed on the complaint of the Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as he claimed that he could not work with the former.
