A party leader, chief Joseph Opedun, said members of Ward II, of APC had gathered for the Congress before another faction of the party in the Ward led by one Alaba Ogundele allegedly attacked them.
Four persons have been arrested by the police while the body of the victim has been deposited at the mortuary in Akure.
And in a related development, the APC has again shifted its ward congress in Kano State to Saturday.
Dr Mustapha Inuwa, the Chairman of the Congress Supervising Committee in the state, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Wednesday.
He said the decision to shift the congress for the second time was taken during the party stakeholders’ meeting held on Monday in Kano.
Inuwa said that the decision was due to the late arrival of the materials and officials charged with the responsibility of overseeing the conduct of the exercise.
