The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Saturday’s House of Representatives election in Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency 1, Dr Bashiru Dawodu, has been declared winner with 11,435 votes as against his closest rival, Hon. Mutiu Shadimu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 9343 votes.
Dawodu is a medical doctor who practised in the United States of America (USA) before coming back to Nigeria in 2015 to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and contested the House of Representatives primaries election of the APC but lost to Hon. Victor Olabimtan.
The incumbent Federal Lawmaker representing the constituency, Hon. Mutiu Shadimu (PDP) who lost to Dawodu in Saturday’s election is a Chartered Accountant and Financial Analyst.
