Adeola Oladele, Ibadan
Apete Community witnessed a massive turnout of people as Hon. Gbola Rahman, otherwise known as ‘Ogbori’ played host to Oluwakemi, wife of a former governor of the state, Chief Adebayo Alao- Akala. The former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain defected to Labour Party, claiming he was unfairly treated by the APC leadership at the just-concluded House of Representatives primary election. After a closed- door meeting with the immediate-past First Lady of Oyo State, the duo proceeded to a hall, which has at least one thousand people capacity located at Ata Estate, Awotan in Apete.
While addressing the people, Oluwakemi Akala urged the people to compare the present administration in the state with Alao-Akala’s, saying the people have realised their mistakes and ready to vote out APC government in next month’s polls. She then affirmed that with the help of God and people like Ogbori in Labour Party, the party is confident of reclaiming the state.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Rahman thanked them for the massive turnout. He said: “I am delighted that despite the short notice, you still made today a memorable day. Again I appreciate you for the love you bestowed on me despite the injustice meted to me by the leadership of APC.
Insha-Allah Labour Party will win in the coming guber election”.
He later advised people of the community and Ido Local Government as a whole to embrace peace and be of good conduct as the battle has already been won by Labour Party.
Rahman urged the party followers in the state to come out en-masse to vote and give no room for the APC “to reap from where it didn’t sow”.
