Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in Afijio Local Government area of Oyo State, Honourable Ayoola Kolawole has described the decision of governor Seyi Makinde to extend the tenure of caretaker chairmen and sole administrators of Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in the state by six months as laudable since it will strengthen the developmental agenda at the grassroots.
The astute politician who is fondly addressed as Arabambi by political associates said the step by the governor was aimed at creating more time for the council chairmen and sole administrators to improve on developmental projects they have embarked upon since their appointment.
According to Arabambi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Rochester Global Consult and Abitool Integrated Ventures, the development would also bring about consistency in the administration of grassroots development.
“The governor has done the right thing by extending tenure of the caretaker chairmen and sole administrators of LCDA by six months because this will give them more time to deliver projects they have embarked upon since their appointment. It is indeed a welcome development, he added.
Arabambi while admonishing the people of Afijio Local government and the state as a whole to cooperate and join hands with governor Makinde to move the state forward said the governor in the last one year has recorded huge achievements in all sectors of the economy in line with his vision.
Arabambi who expressed confidence in governor Makinde on the conduct of local government election by December 2020 described the Engr. Makinde as a man of his words.
He advised the caretaker chairmen and sole administrators of the LCDA to work hard in order to justify the essence of their appointment.
