The former Nigerian ambassador to Jordan in his acceptance speech said “I, Amb.Taofeeq Arapaja, wholeheartedly appreciates the entire stakeholders of our dear party – PDP under the kind leadership of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde for nominating me as the Chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming zonal congress.
“No doubt, it’s a call to duty and I am ready to harness all available machineries to take our dear party to its deserving level.
“Apparently, it’s a great challenge given to me, considering the current state of our party in the Zone; having just one state under our umbrella. though we are all aware that it was due to the polarization which we were unable to contain. Verily, it’s new era.”
He added that his first assignment would be to bring unity, love, team spirit, and productivity to the party while positioning it for the next election so that we can coast to victory.
“We shall encourage all-inclusiveness as this is the only way to foster peace and unity.
“I hereby accept this call to duty in good faith and implore all members of the party across all states within the zone to support this agenda of unification.
“I am seeking your votes, support and prayer in order to move the party to the greater height.”
