Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Makinde, Others Lay Wreaths To Honour Fallen Heroes


    Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde  on Saturday laid the wreath to mark this year’s Armed  Forces Remembrance Day celebrations

    The event, which was held at the Remembrance Arcade, Government House , Agodi,  Ibadan, is the grand finale of the occasion which commenced last Thursday,  January 6, with the launch of Appeal Week Emblem

    Makinde had earlier inspected the Guard of Honour in company of the parade commander.

    Personalities that also performed the wreath laying include, the General Officer Commanding, 2 Division, Chairman, Nigerian  Legion, Oyo State chapter, Commander, 22 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army, and the Commander, 671 Nigeria Airforce Detachment, Ibadan

    Others are, Oyo State  Commissioner Of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, Speaker Oyo State House Of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, Chief Judge of the state, Hon.Justice Munta  Abimbola, representative of the Olubadan of Ibadan and representative of widows of fallen heroes.

    The occasion witnessed special prayers for the departed heroes,  observance of two minutes silence, firing  of rounds volleys  and release of ceremonial pigeons by Governor Makinde
