Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Chairman Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, will on Saturday set their political differences aside as their children, Aliyu and Fatima, are set to tie the knot at a high octane but low-key ceremony in Abuja.
Though both Atiku and Ribadu are sons of Adamawa, they have different political persuasions.
While Atiku belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and contested on the platform of the party in the 2019 presidential election, Ribadu is of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) and an ally of the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Like his dad, Atiku, the Waziri Adamawa, Aliyu is himself a chieftaincy title holder in Adamawa and of a royal lineage from his mother’s side. Like his father also, he is a successful businessman.
Fatima, Ribadu’s daughter, has done well for herself armed with a good university degree and a master’s degree. The wedding Fatiha will hold at Maitama residence of Ribadu.
Chairman of Tertiary Education Trust Fund and Mutawale of Borno Kingdom, Alhaji Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, will be the father of the day at the ceremony that will attract attendance of political big wigs and captains of industry.
