The 2019 presidential aspirant of the Peoples’ Democratic Party( PDP), Atiku Abubakar and the Senate President, Bukola Saraki have sent their condolence messages to parents and victims of the Lagos Island building collapse.
The building that housed a school in Ita-faji area of Lagos Island collapsed at about 10am on Wednesday, trapping over 100 pupils.
Via his verified twitter handle, the former Vice President, Atiku wrote: “My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of pupils caught up in the collapse of the three-storey building at Ita Faji, Lagos Island. No resource should be spared in rescuing the trapped and treating the injured”.
In the same vein, Bukola Saraki who also took to his twitter handle, wrote: “My heartfelt prayers are with all the families affected by today’s building collapse in the Ita-Faaji area of Lagos Island, particularly the young school children who are reportedly trapped inside. I pray for their safe rescue”.
Meanwhile, at the time of this report, more children have been rescued while rescue operations by emergency agencies are still ongoing.
