Wife of Ondo State governor, Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu has charged women to be more pro-active in their doings so as to be relevant in their field of endeavours.
The charge was made at the 3rd summit of the Foundation for Wives of Ondo State Officials (FOWOSO) held in Akure, the state capital.
The theme of this year’s summit was “turning around the economic status of women in a post covid era” under the chairmanship of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.
She charged all women to get engaged economically in the local trades and skills with or without politics.
She said further that it is pertinent for them to be current in socio-political information and publications so as to be confident and versed in all electoral processes and be diligent in managing their homes.
Earlier, Sanwo-Olu appreciated the initiatives put on board by Mrs Akeredolu in liberating women in Ondo State and commended her for being a great advocator of gender equality.
Sanwo-Olu said that 35 per cent of cabinet members in Lagos State are women with over 70per cent of female judges, saying women should be given an opportunity and encouragement to participate in nation-building.
In his comment Governor Rotimi Akeredolu appreciated his counterpart from Lagos State for taking time in attending the occasion.
He emphasized that the report of the white paper submitted on #endsars# protest of Lagos State should be well investigated saying there should be concrete evidence over the number of people said to have been killed at the Lekki toll-gate.
