Be More Professional In Your Dealings, Ondo PDP Chair Charges Journalists

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Hon. Fatai Adams said the party will continue to have the interest of the people at heart and provide credible opposition in the state.

Adams stated this while playing host to the new executive members of the Ondo State Online Media Professionals (OMP) at the PDP secretariat in Akure on Wednesday.

While appreciating the visit of the OMP Excos, the party Chairman charged the union to be more proactive and verify their stories with balance reportage because the society relies on them for prompt updates.

He also acknowledged the global acceptability of Digital means of news dissemination and commended OMP for carrying out its task promptly in the state and beyond.

Earlier, OMP Chairman,  Hakeem Adebumiti appreciated PDP executive members for hosting the association, being the first since the inauguration of the Excos.

Adebumiti said the aim of the meeting was for the new Excos of OMP to familiarize with relevant stakeholders in the state and assured the PDP of an effective, credible and unbiased reports from members of the association.

He further noted that members of OMP are professional journalists that are aware of the dangers of disseminating fake and unverified news which by all standards, go against the ethics of the association.

Other PDP members in attendance were the Vice Chairman of the Party in the State, Apostle Tola Alabere; Organizing Secretary of the Party, Mr. Dare Akinwale, and Mr Niyi Akinola of the PDP State media Directorate.

The executive members of the OMP present at the visit included Chairman Mr Hakeem Adebumiti; Vice Chairman, Joseph Olusola; Secretary, Tope Adedeji and the Assistant Secretary, Mr. Isaac Olasainde.
