BOMB SCARE: THREE MARKETS SHUT IN ABUJA

There was pandemonium at the popular Wuse Market in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja early on Tuesday morning as a result of bomb scare.

It was gathered that shop owners hurriedly closed their shops when an alarm was raised about an object suspected to be improvised explosive device sighted in the market.

Consequently, the FCT authorities sealed off three major Markets in the City – Wuse Market, Utako Modern Market and Garki Modern Market.

Also, policemen, including those of the FCT anti-bomb squad, were drafted to secure the markets.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Altine Daniel, confirmed that the markets have been sealed off for anti-bomb squad to search the nooks and crannies for possible improvised explosives device.

Daniel however assured those trading there and buyers that the markets would be reopened as soon as the police are sure that the lives of the people would not be endangered.
