It was a beehive of activities at the 2018 Ewi Day and Award presentation ceremony put together by Association of Yoruba and English Poets of Yorubaland to honour some personalities who have distinguished themselves in different fields and callings in our society.
The colourful ceremony which took place at De Ace Event Centre, Yemetu in Ibadan on Sunday, September, 2 2018 attracted some notable personalities in the society including son of popular clergy, Prophet Olowere, Pastor Sam Olowere, Prophet Isaac Jaiyeola (General Overseer of Christian Day Mission International) Ibadan, delectable and Inspirational gospel singer Evangelist Bose Super, Evangelist Nike Oyelakin aka Nike praise and many others.
It was a moment of fulfilment and self actualisation for the awardees who dressed in different classic attires as their fans in the magnificent hall celebrated them in high spirit.
The shout of Bose Super rented the air as fans of the star singer sighted her at the event.
It took efforts of some security operatives who led her out of the scene of event due to the crowed who came to the programme just to see the star singer popularly known as Bose super.
The awardees were invited on stage one after the other by the Master of Ceremony for decoration and consequently presented with the award plaque.
Speaking at the event, pastor Sam Olowere described the award programme as very encouraging adding that the larger society need to emulate the gesture of the association.
According to him, everyone created by God is endowed with one gift or the other to make meaningful impact in life, but only those who are able to discover and distinguish themselves become celebrities like the ones who are been celebrated at the programme.
Speaking with Journalists after receiving her award, the fair complexioned and inspirational gospel singer, Bose Super said she received news of the award with joy when she was informed of the development.
“This tells me that the world is watching everything I do. I couldn’t really hide the excitement when I met some notable personalities and gospel singers who were also nominated for the award. It was a good thing for me and a welcome development, I have no doubt that it will further encourage me to put my best into my calling and the gospel music industry as a whole”.
High point at the occasion was the presentation of the award plaque to the awardees, the colourful decoration and group photographs taken by the awardees.
The awardees included Evangelist Bose Super, Pastor Sam Olowere, star actress Queen Adedoyin Adisa, Dr Kolawole Olakanmi, Evangelist Nike Oyelakin and many others.
Meanwhile, the convener of the event Pastor Kehinde Oyelami in a chat with journalists just after the programme said the event was put together to honour men and women who have distinguished themselves in various field of human endeavours in our society and as well contributed immensely to the society.
