A total of 72, 775, 502 Nigerians are expected to participate in Saturday February 23, 2019 Presidential and National Assembly elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman Prof. Mahmud Yakubu has said.
Giving the breakdown at a news conference this afternoon in Abuja, Prof Yakubu said 84,004,084 Nigerians registered for the election out of which 72, 775, 502 collected their Permanent Voter Cards representing 86.63 percent.
Of the 36 states, Lagos has the highest number of would-be voters in the election-5,531, 389. It was followed by Kano State with 4, 696,747 and Kaduna 3,648, 831.
