The remains of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, who died on Friday night from Coronavirus has been laid to rest.
His remains were interred at Gudu Cemetery in Abuja as his body was not taken to his hometown of Maiduguri in Borno state.
The burial was done by some medics in full protective robe and witnessed by a motley crown of top government officials and Islamic clerics.
Prayers were offered at his graveside.
Former Borno State Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima, was one of those who witnessed the burial.
Presidential Spokesman Femi Adesina had announced the passing of Mallam Kyari in a tweet on his twitter handle late Friday night.
Mallam Kyari had travelled to Germany in March where he was believed to have contacted coronavirus. He came back home and tested positive.
