Senator representing Yobe North Senatorial District, Ahmed Lawan, has won as President of the 9th Senate.
Senator Lawan polled 79 votes to Senator Ali Ndume from Borno State who 28 votes.
107 Senators participated in the exercise. Former Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha who was said to have been denied access to the chamber and one other Senator were absent.
