Former Deputy Speaker of Lagos state House of Assembly and candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Hon. Kolawole Taiwo, has won the rescheduled House of Representatives election in the area.
He defeated his arch rival in the poll, Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Rita Orji. Orji is at present representing the constituency in the House of Representatives in Abuja, ending her term in June.
Although the final results were initially being awaited from the Independent National Electoral Commission as at the time of filing this report, WESTERN POST Correspondent who covered the election, however, reports that Taiwo was coasting home to victory.
Also, Hon. Kazeem Bello has been declared as winner of Surulere council bye election as Councillor.
He polled a total of 988 votes to emerge winner.
The bye-election was conducted by Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).
