Lagos Council boss, precisely the Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Rafiu Olatunji Olufunmi, is dead.
Olufunmi, who was in his first term and had secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for second term, had been ill for some time now.
He died on Monday night, according to Western Post sources.
Contacted to confirm the news of the demise of the chairman, a family source, who pleaded not to be mentioned, simply said: “We lost him some moment ago. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.”
APC leaders who heard of the development last night were inconsolable when Western Post tried to get their reactions to the incident.
The development has thrown open the nomination for the chairmanship election in Eti-Osa East. The Lagos Council poll is slated for July 29th.
