Former Minister of National Planning, Chief Rasheed Gbadamosi, is dead. Gbadamosi, 73, died on Wednesday evening in his Ikorodu, Lagos residence, according to family sources.
The cause of his death was not immediately known but. Gbadamosi, a businessman, had in April suffered stroke and was flown abroad for medical attention.
The deceased was a playwright, arts lover and economist. He served as the Commissioner for Establishment and Economic Development in Lagos State at a very young age. He was Chairman Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Commission (PPPRC) at some point.
Gbadamosi was recently appointed Co-chairman of the Lagos at 50 Planning Committee along with Prof. Wole Soyinka.
He would be buried on Thusrday in Ikorodu according to Islamic rites.
