The final hurdle against the All Progressives Congress candidate in Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in Saturday’s governorship poll has been cleared.
A Federal Capital City High Court sitting in Abuja dismissed the case challenging the eligibility of Abiodun to contest the election.
The court ruled on the National Youth Service Corps certificate saga of the APC governorship candidate.
Justice A. Adeniyi who presided over the court said contrary to the claim of the plaintiff, the possession of the NYSC certificate was not a constitutional requirement to hold electoral office.
The court said Abiodun is qualified to contest for the governorship seat in view of Section 177 of the Constitution.
It thus dismissed the case against Abiodun.
