Security agents have secured the release of Dayo Adewole, son of the immediate-past Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, abducted on Tuesday near his farm in Iroko, close to Fiditi, Oyo State.
The security agents comprising military men, policemen and local hunters who had been on the trail of the kidnappers eventually caught up with the kinappers on Wednesday.
Three of the abductors were arrested in the raid. No ransom was said to have been paid.
The ex-minister was forced to cut short his trip abroad following his son’s abduction.
According to a source, Dayo Adewole was waylaid at gunpoint on his farm in Iroko, near Fiditi in Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State at about 6 pm.
Although there were some staff with Dayo, the abductors went for him as a prime target.
It was gathered from a source that the kidnappers later took Dayo away to an unknown destination.
The villagers were alerted by the staff who survived the ordeal following which local hunters were mobilised by the Oniroko of Iroko.
