Some buildings within the premises of African Independent Television (AIT) in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, have been demolished by officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
It was learned that the agency stormed the premises with armed security operatives and demolished some buildings located on the premises.
The officials came from the development control unit of the FCT administration.
This online news platform reports that AIT is owned by DAAR communications. The communication outfit is the property of Raymond Dokpesi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party.
It was learnt that the government officials came with bulldozers and commenced the tearing down of the offensive buildings at about 12 pm on Tuesday, April 16.
