Former NADECO chieftain and former military administrator of Lagos State, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, has died.
He died early Wednesday morning, according to sources. He was 77 years old.
WESTERN POST learned that Rear Admiral Kanu was home during the Christmas season for the introduction ceremony of his daughter who was getting married to a man, both of them from abroad.
He was said to have had a mild cough then and his condition deteriorated suddenly.
Admiral Kanu had to quickly fly back to Lagos where he was diagnosed positive for COVID-19 infection.
He had been on intensive care with oxygen until his death this morning.
Apart from being the military administrator of Lagos, Admiral Kanu also served Imo State in the same capacity. He played a leading role in the struggle for the actualization of June 12.
The family is yet to issue a statement on the development.
