After concluding his consultations, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has now formally joined the Peoples Democratic Party.
The decision would mean the governor’s negotiations with the PDP leaders have been favourable.
Governor Obaseki has begun negotiations with top chieftains of the party after his disqualification from the All Progressives Congress governorship race.
He met Rivers State Governor Nyesome Wike, AkwaIbom State Governor Emmanuel Udom and the PDP National Chairman Uche Secondus among others.
Obaseki joined the party on Friday in Benin, Edo State capital, and may have, by so doing, enlisted in the party’s governorship race.
The PDP has moved its governorship primaries to June 23, a day after the June 22 scheduled APC primaries, ostensibly to accommodate the governor.
