The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate/incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the 2019 Presidential election on Wednesday.
The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, made this announcement this morning (Wednesday) at about 4:40am at the INEC National Collation Centre in Abuja
President Buhari has scored the highest votes after polling 15,191,847 votes, while, his closest opposition and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled 11,262,978 votes.
The result of all 36 states and Abuja have been declared at the INEC collation centre in Abuja.
Prof. Yakubu also said that the Certificate to Office will be presented to President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo by 2:pm today (Wednesday).
