The Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika has announced the resumption of international flights in the country by August 29, 2020.
The flights would resume first from Lagos and Abuja as experimented with the local flights when they resumed after the initial shutdown.
Sirika said the protocols and procedures for the international flights would be announced in due course.
“Glad to announce the resumption of international flights from the 29th of August, 2020. Beginning with Lagos and Abuja as we did with the domestic flight resumption,” he said.
“Protocols and procedures will be announced in due course. We thank you for your patience,” the minister added in a post on his twitter handle.
Local and international flights had been shut since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
But last month, the airports were opened for domestic flights.
