Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly have frowned at the incessant killings by Fulani herdsmen across the state.
The lawmaker, representing Odeda State Constituency, Hon. Daisi Elemide, who spoke during plenary on Tuesday lamented that the situation was getting out of hand.
Elemide explained that on Sunday at Oloke Meji, Ogun River area between Ogun/Oyo states boundary, a heavily armed Fulani man shot an innocent man to death.
He alleged ‘free movement of firearms’ by the Fulani herdsmen, even when they are not security personnel.
He urged the Speaker to use his good office to protect the lives and properties of Oloke-meji village, the entire Odeda Local Government and Ogun State in general.
Also, Mrs. Modupe Mujota, representing Abeokuta North State Constituency, lamented illegal killings and kidnappings in her constituency.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Kunle Olu-Omo urged communities and individuals to take the issue of security seriously.
He said there was the need for indigenes of the state to rise to the occasion and defend themselves in the face of the onslaught by the marauding Fulani terrorists.
