The suspended Ag. Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Ibrahim Magu, has been released on bail from custody where he had been in the past ten days.
His lawyer, Tosin Ojaomo, confirmed the new development to WESTERN POST.
Magu has been facing interrogation by the seven-man Presidential Panel headed by former President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Salami, in the last nine days over some allegations of corruption.
Magu was arrested on July 6. Two days ago, He sought bail but was denied.
He was suspended as EFCC chairman pending the conclusion of the investigation.
But WESTERN POST learned that Magu’s problems have to do with a supremacy battle between him and the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mallam Ibrahim Malami.
Malami had earlier raised a memo to President Muhammadu Buhari against Magu.
