A mystery fire has gutted some part of the old National Assembly Complex, the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
The fire which started around 3 pm on Thursday afternoon was said to have begun on the second floor and spread to the sixth floor.
WESTERN POST authoritatively learnt that the fire touched the offices of NAPEP, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Office of Accountant-General of the Federation.
It was learnt that the fire affected only the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th floors while the 6th, 7th and 8th floors were spared.
Construction giant Julius Berger and officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the state Fire Service are at present battling to put out the fire.
A NEMA official who confirmed the fire outbreak to WP said he was yet to know the source of the inferno.
