President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to calls on him to form his cabinet without further delay. He also gave reasons why the cabinet is being delayed.
Addressing the leadership of the National Assembly during a dinner on Thursday night at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the President said he was under pressure to unveil his ministerial nominees.
But he said he wanted to ensure those he knows personally are the ones on the list.
“I am very much aware about it and I am under tremendous pressure on it,” he said.
“The last cabinet which I had, most of them, a majority of them I didn’t know.
“I had to accept their names and recommendations from the party. I worked with them for three and a half years.”
The President, however, explained that the delay was to nominate people he knows personally and can work with.
