Tragedy struck in the early hours of Tuesday when a storey building collapsed along Fanibi Junction in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
WesternPost gathered that the collapsed building crushed one person, while others from the same family are still trapped.
It was gathered that the incident occurred around 3 o’clock in the morning while the occupants were sleeping.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that one of the occupants, a woman, died instantly and her body had been taken out.
He said neighbors had been helping to rescue others, including children trapped in the building as the fire brigade did not respond two hours after they were contacted
The total number of casualties are yet unknown as at the time of filing this report.
