President Muhammadu Buhari and former president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan are in a closed-door session at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
Details of the meeting are not too clear at present. But it is thought that Jonathan may be briefing the president about his intervention in Mali.
The former president is leading the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) efforts to resolve the crisis in that country.
Only recently and as a means of resolving Mali’s lingering political crisis the mediation team of the sub-regional body, Jonathan recommended the formation of a government of national unity with members drawn from different interest groups in the country, including the ruling coalition, the opposition parties and the civil society.
