The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of the former commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr Abdul Lateef Abdul Hakeem, as the 2019 Amir–ul Hajj.
This appointment was confirmed by Sanwo-Olu through the Office of the Chief of Staff, which issued the directive to that effect.
It directed the Board’s Secretary, Mr. Rahman Ishola, to make necessary arrangements for handing over of office to Abdul Hakeem.
According to the statement, the former commissioner was appointed based on his past record of achievements during his tenure as the Commissioner for Home Affairs and Amir-ul Hajj of Lagos State.
The governor urged the newly-appointed Amir-ul Hajj to sustain his past records and ensure he takes the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board to a greater height.
