President Muhammadu Buhari has approved new appointment in Nigerians Communications Commission (NCC), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and others parastatals at the ministry of communications & digital economy.
The special adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Mr. Femi Adesina in a statement on Monday said the appointment is on the heels of federal government desirous of fast-tracking the targets and mandate of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.
The new appointment approved by Buhari includes NCC Chairman, Board of Commissioners, Prof. Adeolu Akande (South West) to replace Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye (South West)– subject to Senate confirmation.
Also at NCC, Mr. Uche Onwude (South East) to replace Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Ararume (South East) as Non-Executive Commissioner – subject to Senate confirmation.
However, in the NITDA government parastatal, Dr Abubakar Sa’id to replace Prof. Adeolu Akande as Board Chairman; Dr Habibu Ahmed Imam (North West) replaces Dr. Lawal Bello Moriki (North West) as a Board Member and Dr Mohammed Sa’idu Kumo joining the Board Member of NITDA.
At the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) parastatal, Dr Ismail Adebayo Adewusi (South West) replaces Barrister Bisi Adegbuyi(South West) as Postmaster General/CEO
Meanwhile, Professor Muhammed Bello Abubakar replaces Architect Yusuf Kazaure at Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB).
In addition, Buhari approves Architect Yusuf Kazaure to replace Chief Dr George Nnadubem Moghalu as Board Chairman of the Nigeria Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat)
Also, Dr Najeem Salam replaces Hon. Samson Osagie as Executive Director, Marketing and Business Development at NigComSat while Professor Abdu Ja’afaru Bambale replaces Kazeem Kolawole Raji as Executive Director, Technical Services.
Consequently, Hadi Mohammed replaces Mohammed Lema Abubakar as Executive Director, Administration at NigComSat.
