President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday evening arrived in The United Kingdom after attending the United Nation’s General Assembly in New York, United States of America.
The president on Tuesday addressed the session during which he sought for support in the country’s efforts towards the repatriation of the nation’s stolen funds. He also called for the putting together of a special UN team to engage a belligerent North Korean leader.
On the sidelines of the meeting, President Buhari along with some other African leaders had lunch with President Donald Trump.
The Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, had earlier said his principal would transit in London on his way back from the UN after the general assembly meeting.
He said he would return to the country by early next week.

In a Skype interview with Channels Television, Adesina revealed that after a couple of meetings, he would leave the USA to the UK.

“I don’t have a definite word on that yet. But I know that tomorrow (Wednesday) he is going to have lunch with the American President, he is going to meet with the Secretary-General of the United Nations. Tomorrow is Wednesday. Maybe on Thursday, in the early hours, he has some things to do.

“After that, I believe that he may be thinking of flying out. One thing is sure; the trip was to last between last Sunday and next Sunday/Monday. Though he is going to the UK, everything will still be done within the time-frame of the trip.”
