President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the family of former Nigerian Ambassador to Senegal, Sam Edem, the diplomatic community and people of Ndiya, Nsit Ubium, Akwa Ibom, over the passing of the renowned diplomat.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina conveyed the president’s condolence message on Friday in Abuja.
The president lauded the deceased, who also served as Chairman, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), for contributing a great deal to the success of the amnesty programme that helped restore peace to the Niger Delta region.
“The late diplomat was also known for his roles in restoring relations with some countries during the military era, and the National Award he received in Senegal during his tour of duty.’’
Buhari prayed God to rest the soul of the departed, and comfort all those mourning him.
The remains of the renowned diplomat will be buried on March 13, 2021.
