President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in an emergency meeting with former Heads of State, Presidents and Security Chiefs.
The impromptu meeting, summoned by the President, may not be unconnected to the current agitation and security situation in the country, in which many lives have been lost and properties destroyed.
The meeting began at about 10am, but the agenda has not been made public.
The former leaders participating virtually in the meeting include former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Generals Yakubu Gowon, Abdulsalam Abubakar (retd), former President Goodluck Jonathan and Chief Ernest Shonekan.
The Security Chiefs are, however, participating physically in the Executive Council Chambers of the State House.
Others in attendance include the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Gabriel Olanisakin; Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu; Director-General Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi; and Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai.
