President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the acting Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris, to reopen investigation into the murder of former Attorney-General of the Federation and Justice Minister, Chief Bola Ige, and former National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Aminasaori Dikibo aka A.K. Dikibo.
Ige was killed in December 2001 in his house in Ibadan, Oyo State while Dikibo was killed in his car on his way to Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Since their deaths, there has been no clue about those who killed them.
It was learnt that the acting IG Idris has already raised a special panel to handle investigation into the murder of the two leaders.
Buhari had said he would reopen the issue of past assassinations in the country.
Mr. Muyiwa Ige, son of the late Attorney-General and Justice Minister, commended President Buhari for the move.
