President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated former Minister of National Planning, Mr Ayodele Ogunlade, on his 90th birthday, March 18, 2021.
The president, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Wednesday, joined family and friends to celebrate with the veteran journalist and renowned industrialist.
The president congratulated Ogunlade on the milestone, preceded by many years of hard work as a journalist.
Ogunlade started his journalistic career as one of the pioneer staff of the first television network in Africa, Western Nigeria Television and Broadcast Service, after working as a primary and secondary school teacher.
Buhari believed the former minister’s proclivity for new careers and testing grounds in business greatly enriched his experience, with a willingness to always share knowledge and skills in service to the nation and humanity.
He noted that these virtues had separated him for recognitions and awards, especially his consistency in the leadership of the Rotary Club.
The president prayed for Ogunlade’s wellbeing, and greater grace to serve God and humanity as he turns a nonagenarian.
