President Muhammadu Buhari’s scheduled medical trip to the United Kingdom will now take place on July 27, after Sallah, Western Post learnt on Monday.
The president was scheduled to travel to London on June 25 for what was then described as a scheduled medical follow-up by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Mr. Femi Adesina, in a statement in Abuja on Thursday, June 24.
In the statement, Adesina said that the President would be back in the country in the second week of July.
However, the trip was postponed the day the president was to travel. “A new date will be announced in due course,” Adesina said in the statement announcing the postponement.
It would be recalled that President Buhari on March 30, embarked on a similar trip, which kept him in the United Kingdom for about two weeks.
In May 2018, the president was also in London for medical checkup.
Despite criticisms of his many trips abroad for what has been described as medical tourism, including one during when doctors were on strike, President Buhari has spent about six months of his six years in office in London for medical treatment.
