CCTV Captures Girl Who Set Ebeano Supermarket On Fire


Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) has revealed that an unidentified girl was responsible for the fire that gutted Ebeano Supermarket, Lokogoma area of Abuja on Saturday, July 17, 2021.

The girl, dressed in a black T-shirt and jeans was captured in the CCTV footage setting on fire some goods arranged under cooking gas cylinders on a shelve .

After perpetrating the crime which happened at around 7:00 pm, she walked briskly away from the scene of the incident.

Her action led to the fire that razed the multi-million naira shopping mall all night and into the early hours of the next day.

The cause of the fire was said to be unascertained at the time it happened.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Federal Capital Territory Fire Service, Ibrahim Muhammad, had said that firefighters from several fire service stations in Asokoro, Garki, Games Village and the National Judicial Institute in Abuja combated the “massive” fire.

It is yet unknown if the Police have been able to identify the arsonist.
