An Islamic scholar, Alh (Prof) Sabit Olagoke has stressed the importance of counselling guide as the only solution to problems attached to procreation and child-rearing.
He made the disclosure at the weekend in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital while speaking at a Ramadan lecture organized by Tose Muslim Community, Moniya Ibadan.
Speaking on the theme: Procreation and Child-Rearing: Need to Follow Counselling Guide, Prof. Olagoke opined that for a well ordered society, good family genealogical continuity, community development and nation building which are the factors of change agents in the socialization process of the child must be monitored to avoid bad influence.
This, according to him, could be only achieved if the child is bred in a Godly minded environment, where things are done accordingly..
Defining procreation as the process by which an organism produces others of its biological kind, the Muslim cleric observed that each segment of the development has characteristic spiritual, medical and psycho-social demand for growth and nature.
He urged parents to guide their children on the principle of Love, Marriage and Sex(LMS) which is imperative for home formation.
“Safety of the environment and security of our children must matter most to us because people and circumstances can capitalize on their innocence and inexperience,” he urged.
Prof Olagoke stated that most of the problems some parents experienced at old age were as a result of of the defect in their nature nurturing and socialization process, urging parents to avoid those pitfalls with their children for them to be better taken care of.
