Commissioner for Education Lauds Principal,Felicitates With College At 40 In Kogi

Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Science and Technology, Mrs. Rosemary Osikoya has commended the principal of Bishop Delise College, Mrs. Mary Boro role in the transformation of the school to an enviable position among the secondary schools in the state.

Osikoya who made this commendation while speaking at 40th founder’s day anniversary of the College, at the college premises in Lokoja during the weekend, said that the principal has indeed made the difference in just one year.

Osikoya also lauded the efforts of both teaching and nonteaching staff of the college for their resilience and contributions in the last one year, saying that their cooperation cannot be over emphasized.

The Commissioner who was represented by a Director of Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Waniko Steve restated the present administration’s commitment to providing high standard of education in the State, stressing that the welfare of the teachers in the state still remains paramount at all times.

The Director in Kogi State Teaching Service Commission, Mr. Afolabi  Raji in his remarks in an address title, Bishop Delisie at 40: the world needs more of Mrs. Boro, eulogized the good virtue of the College principal, said he was glad to know that the commission appointed Mrs. Boro .

“Of course, the improvements currently being witnessed in the school did not just happen overnight, neither did they come as a result of the principal waving magic wand.Rather they are as a result of the dogged , tenacious and resilient of the determination of Mrs. Boro to make a positive impact in the ramshackle of school that she inherited,” he added.

While congratulating the management of the college at 40, Raji stated that over last one year, we have witnessed an uncommon and progressive transformation of the ramshackle structure that Mrs. Bola Boro took over ,in better decent looking school.

The Reverend Father, Most, Dr. Martin D.A . Olorunmolu, the Catholic Bishop of Lokoja fecilitated with the college at 40, commending the efforts of the management of the  school, noting that the proprietor ,the Catholic Diocese will liaise with them to do something on the rehabilitation going on in the School premises.
