Community Goes Spiritual Over Travails Of Igboho

By Bode Akinbode, Ibadan

The people of Igboho in Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State have embarked on rigorous fasting and prayer for their son, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

They are seeking spiritual help over a plot by the Federal Government to repatriate Igboho to Nigeria from the Republic of Benin after his arrest at the country’s airport recently.

The Chairman of the Community under the aegis of Ifelodun Omo Igboho, Alhaji Badmus Imran Oloyoyo disclosed this to Westernpost at his Igboho residence.

Oloyoyo said the accusation of an attempt to topple the government of Muhammadu Buhari leveled against Igboho is baseless and an attempt to call a dog a bad name in order to hang it because of his role in the agitation for the Yoruba nation due to injustice his people are being subjected to.

“At this time of computer age, I could not imagine how defenseless citizens of the country can be accused of plotting a coup against the government.

“Since Sunday Igboho who was declared wanted by the government has not been found guilty by court, he is still an innocent person.

“These were the reasons the umbrella body of all the associations consulted both Christian and  Muslim clerics as well the traditional worshippers to raise their voice in fasting and praying so that our son escapes from the claws of lion with the hope that God will intervene,”.he said.
