Coronavirus: NIMASA Donates Vessels, Ambulance


The management of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), on Monday, donated some medical equipment and relief items to the Lagos State government to support its efforts in curtailling the spread of the deadly Coronavirus in the state.

Its Director General, Dr Bashir Jamoh disclosed this during the handing over ceremony held in Lagos.

Some of the items handed over included one 36 seater coaster bus, one 16 seater coaster bus, one ambulance bus, two fast intervention vessels, three ventilators, six oxygen concentrators and other medical equipment.

Speaking with reporters after the event, Jamoh said the donation was in support of the Federal Government’s efforts in taming the spread of the pandemic in the state.

The agency, Jamoh said, is also making donation to the six geo-political zones of the country and assisting  people in the riverine areas to contain the spread of COVID-19.

He pointed out that from the N50 million donation, N20 million would go to the Lagos State, adding that N30 million went to Abuja because Federal Government had approved five stadia for them.
