Coronavirus: Ogun State Records 1 Case

The Ogun State Ministry of Health has confirmed a 62 years old man who has tested positive for Coronavirus in Sagamu Local Government areas of the state.

The honourable commissioner for health, Dr Kunmi Coker at a press briefing held at the ministry of health conference room, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta on Tuesday explained that the patient had returned from the United Kingdom on 17th of March, 2020 and made contacts with 32 contacts.

She said the patient days later, started coughing and was taken to the hospital before tested positive of Coronavirus.

According to her, the patient had contact with four members of his family and 28 people since arrival, stressing that the 32 contacts are being put on a self-isolation center in Sagamu for 14-day.

Western Post gathered that the 62 years old man has been quarantined at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUITHS).

She advised the good people of Sagamu local government and Ogun state not to be panic but be obedient to government directives and instructions from World Health Organization (WHO), federal ministry of health and Ogun state ministry of health.

She urged the people to continued washing their hands frequently and apply sanitizer. Coker added that the Ogun state government will begin free distribution of hand sanitizer as part of measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus.
