As part of measures to reduce the deadly impact of Coronavirus, the Kwara State Government has said it will close down schools in the state by Monday, March 23rd, 2020.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye, made the confirmation on Wednesday night in Ilorin.
“I can confirm that Kwara State will be shutting down schools from Monday March 23rd. It is part of the efforts to contain the global spread of the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
The state government enjoined residents of the state to maintain high-level hygiene and remain calm as well as adhere to all safety measures announced by the state Ministry of Health and other national bodies.
“We urge our people to maintain the highest level of hygiene and to remain calm and adhere to all safety measures earlier announced by the Kwara State Ministry of Health and other national bodies,” he added.
