The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has given the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Uche Secondus 14 days to vacate office.

Justice Hussein Baba of the court ruled that Secondus was occupying the office illegally. He held that the position of chairman is zoned by PDP to the North-east while Secondus is from the South-south.

Ahmed Gulag, the former Political Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, had dragged Secondus and PDp to the court.

Gulag is waiting in the wings to contest for the chairmanship of the party.

The court’s decision is yet another setback for the opposition party, which has been battling to find its feet since it lost the last presidential election to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Counsel to Secondus has said the legal team will appeal the judgment at the Court of Appeal.
