A magistrate court in Osogbo, capital of Osun State has sentenced a 22-year-old man, Clement Ajetomobi to six months jail term for sneaking into the apartment of a housewife, Mrs Fatimoh Balohun.
Clement was said to have sneaked into Fatimoh’s apartment at Oketunji Street, Alekuwodo area of Osogbo, capital of Osun State.
Clement was cut in the apartment around 5:35am on 27th, April 2014.
The convict was apprehended by Fatimoh’s neighbours when the woman cried for help when Clement was trying to escape from the bedroom.
Clement was later handed over to the police.
Narrating her ordeal to the police, Fatimoh explained that she did not know how Clement sneaked into her bedroom. “I was shocked and I started shouting and calling for help. I don’t know how the man got into my bedroom at around 5:35am. When Clement discovered that my neighbours were coming, he wanted to flee but they apprehended him”.
When Clement was arraigned before the magistrate, the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Solomon Oladele told the court that the offence committed by Clement was punishable under section 508 of the criminal code Cap. 34 Vol. II, Law of Osun state of Nigeria 2003
Clement pleaded guilty to one count charged against him as his counsel, Mrs Ngwu Nnnena prayed to the court to be lenient with her client. Mrs Nnenna told the court that her client is a first offender and that the man had learnt his lesson.
The Presiding Magistrate, A.A Olowolagba sentenced Clement to six months imprisonment without option of fine.
