Two sales representatives have been remanded by an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo for allegedly stealing N448.500 from their employer.
The accused persons; Blessing Muhammed (18) and Idris Ojochenemi (32) were said to have worked with one Olusola Olayade, till they were arrested for the alleged crime.
The duo committed the offence on May 7, 2021, around 5pm at Orisunbare Market, Old Garage area in Osogbo.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Kayode Adeoye, told the court that the duo stole the sum of N394,500; one Zara sandal valued at N8,000; two teddy purses valued at N7,000.
Adeoye further said that the accused persons sold one Rite Vick slippers, valued at N8,000; one multi-coloured shoe and bag valued at N24,000; all valued at N448,500.
The Prosecutor said the offences were committed contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume II Laws of Osun State, 2002.
The accused persons who had no legal representation pleaded not guilty to the charges of conspiracy and stealing.
Magistrate Adebayo Ajala granted bail to the accused persons in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety each in like sum.
He ruled that the surety must be a civil servant not below grade level 8 or a house owner in the state who must deposit the house documents to the court.
The duo, however, could not meet the bail conditions.
They were remanded at the Ilesa Correctional Centre and the case was adjourned till March 8 for hearing.
